Am I the only person who thinks that Equestria Girls can actually be decent
because I don’t think that they’d go into this without their best creative teams on the job
and maybe since Celestia sent her in there to do … something … the entire point of prom/boyfriends/highschool bullshit is that she shouldn’t get distracted from who she actually is and what she will eventually achieve
because Twilight Sparkle is a goddamn MAGIC PRODIGY
and maybe the point is that highschool is not the end of the world, chill out which would be a good message to reinforce to girls? Because, you know, every other show aimed at girls between 9-14 is centred on how DEATHLY IMPORTANT highschool is? How it’s the be-all, end-all of existence?
So here’s my working theory: Twilight goes into the highschool world, awkwardly figures out where she fits in it and actually starts kinda liking it. She starts forgetting who she really is and what she really wants to do with her life and gets caught up in the competition between herself and redheaded chick (who is apparently Celestia’s former student) and all of the petty bullshit that highschool throws her way.
BUT THEN, possibly right before the crowning of prom, [WHATEVER CELESTIA SENT HER TO DO] comes up and she realises OH GOD, I NEED TO DO THIS THING SO I CAN BECOME WHO I ACTUALLY AM, PLUS, IT’S JUST A RIDICULOUS CROWNING ANYWAY WHO CARES.
And then redheaded chick is crowned prom queen but Twilight succeeds at her quest and gets to go back home, having learned that highschool is a necessary evil but not the end of the world.
Except better and with more songs.
